The Happy Feeling petting zoo area of the park was one of the simpler construction projects, with minimal land clearing taking place. The biggest parts of the project involved building a small pond with an island that contained birds. Pens, small barns and feeders were built for the goats and other pettable animals. The only major building that was constructed for the Happy Feeling area was the Snake House which featured large windows to view the collection of massive snakes. Happy Feeling opened with the rest of the Enchanted Forest on July 1, 1974.
