Fright Fest 2004 was a year of growth. The park's new general manager was making big investments all around with new props, shows and attractions added all around the park.

The truly big thing about Fright Fest was the announcement of Kingda Ka and the Golden Kingdom for the following year. Right alongside the Fright Fest props were signs throughout the park trumpeting the arrival of the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster for the 2005 season.

Something that was a first for the park was a true indoor haunt attraction. The Carnival of Clowns 3D was a glow in the dark indoor maze utilizing the former "Lost Parents" building along with the unused "Old Main" restroom expansion. The blacklight attraction was short, but it was full enclosed so it could operate before dark unlike the outdoor attractions. The sounds of the maze could be heard by guests using the restroom facilities that shared the building.
