Although not a hands-on petting zoo, the Safari Exploration Station
allowed guests to view and interact with numerous small and baby animals
during their post-Wild Safari Drive Thru visit. Several animal
cages, roomy pens, and bird perches dotted the Station's footprint,
often varying by number to correspond with recent births from the
Safari's animal residents including infant bear and lion cubs.
On a warm summer's day
Moluccan Cockatoos and Coatimundi could spend their days in shaded enclosures
with plenty of diversions and attention from the passing crowds.
The enclosures were given thatched roofs to complement the Safari
Exploration Station atmosphere, as well as provide shade on hot, sunny
days.
Experienced and knowledgeable staff members were always on hand to
eagerly present their animal friends to guests and answer questions
about these wonderful animals that called the Safari Exploration Station
home.
