Fright Fest 2001 was a very different affair in many ways, not because of things added to the park, but in the ways the world had changed. The events of September 11th were still fresh in the minds of the whole world, but especially for those in the New York metropolitan area which is where most of Great Adventure's guests live. The real horrors in the world were scarier than any haunts the park could create and so many of the park's guests were personally touched by the tragic events. Many of the shows and attractions were tweaked versions of the previous year's, with the only new truly new attraction being the Robosaurus show which took place in the Great Arena. This show featured a mechanical dinosaur robot that breathed fire.
