News & Notes:  For the 1999 season, Great Adventure declared a "war on lines" and introduced 25 new rides, including the world's first "floorless" roller coaster, Medusa.    Medusa was built behind the Arena and Runaway Mine Train on a site that was originally approved for construction of a wooden "cyclone" style roller coaster which was never built.

A bunch of flat rides of all shapes, sizes and styles were added throughout the park, and an entirely new children's area known as Looney Tunes Seaport took the place of Adventure Rivers.

Up-Charge Attractions:

Dare Devil Dive

/\ Spinnaker was one of the new rides for 1999, and only operated a few times before it was removed in 2000.   This was the third "octopus" type ride installed in the park

The Time Warp offered a wild ride along the Lakefront where the Festival Stage now stands \/
