The expected increase of visitation to the new Safari Exploration
Station warranted the addition of a new food stand named "Rip's Trunk of Treats".
A food outlet had been omitted from the lineup of venues at the Safari
Hospitality Center after the original Safari Hut food stand was closed
in 2002 and reintroduced as an animal exhibit area and kennel facility.
The new Rip's Trunk of Treats offered snacks and favorite kids meal
items such as hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, and grilled cheese, as well
as salads and cold drinks. The square shaped building featured
three screen enclosed sides with counter service windows in the front
and kitchen facilities along the back wall. |
