With each season of Fright Fest, the event at Great Adventure grew bigger and more elaborate, echoing the increasing interest in Halloween events at theme parks around the country. With all the new attention to these events more commercially available props were being created and Great Adventure continued to add to their already extensive collection. This season was also the debut of Dead Man's Party, the long running stage show which had a custom made stage at the base of the Big Wheel. The long running Hypnosteria show also debuted this season. The show featured a hypnotist who would demonstrate his skills on audience members. This season was also the debut of Alice Cooper's Brutal Planet, an elaborate haunt experience from the rock star Alice Cooper. The location of the haunt was the Garden of Eatin' picnic area.
