| News & Events: The new attraction for 1985 was the Looping Starship (operating today as the Space Shuttle). In addition the park spent $5 million on retrofitting every structure in the park with sprinkler systems, and the now familiar water tower. The Shirt Tales were out and the Looney Tunes were in after the character licensing was acquired by Six Flags with the purchase of the Great America park in Gurnee, Illinois. |

/\ The cargo net and slides entrance to Shirt Tales Land got a makeover with a Looney Tunes Land sign. The entry structure was removed and replaced with an arch way, and later the giant tree stump when the area became Bugs Bunny Land a few years later. -------------- Looping Starship \/
