News & Notes: The Fender Bender bumper cars, and the Swiss Bob were removed in the off-season to make room for a new show facility, the Batman Stunt Show Arena. This was the beginning of the re-theme of the Fun Fair area to become Movietown. The Swiss Bob was originally slated to move to the area vacated by Ultra Twister, but never was assembled despite appearing on park maps. At the end of the season Shockwave was removed and relocated to Six Flags Astroworld where it operated until the park closed in 2005. Also removed were the two tracks of Lightnin' Loops. Plans at one point called for installation of one of the loops in the former Ultra Twister spot, but instead the "Upper" loop was relocated to Wild World (later Adventure World, then Six Flags America) where it operated from 1993 to 1998 as Python, and the "Lower" loop was relocated to Frontier City in Oklahoma where it has run since 1993 as Diamondback. |
